Zed Run Founders Raise $20 Million in Series A Funding

Virtually Human Studios (VHS), the company behind the hugely successful virtual horse racing platform Zed Run, have raised an eye popping $20 million in a Series A funding round.

With confidence growing in the burgeoning NFT gaming market, investors are becoming more and more willing to provide support for such ventures. With this in mind, TCG Capital, Andreesen Horowitz and Red Beard Ventures have backed the plucky startup.

There is no news as yet to what the money will be used for. So, it’s up to speculation whether it will fund Zed Run development or go towards a new project. Nevertheless, the huge injection of cash will prove a welcome boost as VHS scales up its operations.

Virtually Human Studios hit on a winner with Zed Run, with the platform proving an indisputable success. To date, they have recorded 125,000 connected users and 14,000 unique stable owners. Furthermore, Zed Run assets, which so far are only horses, have been changing hands for as much as 30 ETH.

The simulation allows users to race, breed, and trade virtual steeds and win real prizes on the racetrack. All this with the added bonus that all animals are treated humanely. The only question left, is what other creatures can be made to race each other.
