TIME magazine’s Web3 community initiative, TIMEPieces, recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with FOTO. FOTO is an NFT artist collective which was established by eight world-renowned photographers. The collective was launched to create a community and opportunities for artists to develop their careers through NFTs.
As part of the collaboration, TIMEPieces will now have the rights to the artwork that was minted for the two FOTO vaults. The artwork will be integrated into the TIMEPieces ecosystem in the coming months. There will also be a dedicated FOTO community for photographers in TIMEPiece’s Discord channel.
FOTO consists of two vaults featuring 24 artworks, and a community of over 450 artists, technologists, and collectors. The photographers include: Alejandro Cartagena, Ben Strauss, Cath Simard, Dave Krugman, Isaac “Drift” Wright, J.N. Silva, John Knopf, and Ravi Vora.
“We are thrilled to welcome the FOTO artists and community into the TIMEPieces family. By coming together, our shared vision allows us to create an innovative, inclusive and disintermediated future that leverages technology in the art world for increased creativity, collaboration and mutual benefit,” stated Keith A. Grossman, President of TIME.
TIMEPieces recently launched their genesis collection titled “Build A Better Future.” The drop featured 40 artists and 4,676 pieces of art, and sold out within minutes, taking the top rankings on OpenSea. A whitelist of TIMEPiece holders and community members will receive an NFT by 12 year old CryptoArt star, Nyla Hayes, on November 17.
