Lovable nutcase “Joe Exotic” has announced the launch of an NFT collection from the confines of his prison cell.
In the early days of the pandemic, the first binge watch for many of us was the now infamous “Tiger King,” the comic-tragedy, fly-on-the-wall documentary that followed the antics and exploits of a motley group of zoo lunatics and their mulleted leader. The series culminated with Joe’s incarceration for crimes against wildlife and a bumbled murder plot against series antagonist, Carole Baskin. Joe is currently serving a 22-year stretch at the courtesy of Fort Worth prison.
Now, from behind bars, our piratical super-villain is launching an NFT collection. You too can own his used leather trousers, an adult film star’s bikini, or Exotic’s own personal Smith and Wesson six shooter, all of which will grant ownership of the physical element as well as the digital NFT.
All items are currently listed on Mintable, with auctions running for another 5 days.
As if to continue the perpetual rivalry, Joe Exotic is following in the footsteps of his arch nemesis. Just last month, Carol Baskin, launched her own cryptocurrency and NFTs. To stir things up even more, Joe Exotic reportedly sent Jeff Lowe, another “Tiger King” adversary, a cease and desist over plans to host an “official” “Tiger King” NFT auction.
We’re not sure who’s operating the strings here, but we’re half sure it’s all the same devious person.
