Generally, a quiet release of a set of $5 NFTs is easily overlooked. But then you delve deeper, and notice the talent involved is celebrated manga artist Choboraunyopomi. And, on closer inspection the company responsible is Square Enix.
Any established software developer jumping into the NFT space is big news. What it means is that one of Japan’s biggest gaming companies is testing the water on the new technology. Moreover, as Square Enix is the developing might behind the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts titles, the NFT potential is staggering.
The first drop arrives on October 14, in the shape of popular Japanese cartoon character, “Million Arthur.” Two specific types are available, character stickers with customizable backgrounds and frames, and four frame stickers, featuring the original drawings of Choboraunyopomi. Furthermore, owners can keep the tokens within their original wallet in order to accrue points to exchange for additional content.
Behind the scenes, the whole operation is made possible via LINE blockchain, and their own bespoke LINE BITMAX wallet. Furthermore, ensuring the token side of things runs like clockwork is Japanese NFT firm, doublejump.tokyo. Users can acquire assets by registering via the Line messaging app (same company), and following the instructions (in Japanese!).
