The legendary American music media publication, SPIN, announced its partnership with NAX, a company that brings liquidity to corporate assets. It is the first major music media brand to launch an NFT marketplace and release its full content archive as NFTs. SPIN will be releasing collectible NFTs of its classic magazine covers, both digital and physical. SPIN published magazines in print from 1985 until 2012, and since then it has been a digital-only publication.
Jimmy Hutcheson, CEO, SPIN said: “A music, media and art collectibles marketplace supported by NAX’s digital expertise and marketplace technology, fueled by SPIN’s access to talent, celebrities and brands is a no brainer. We are excited to launch this with NAX and create something really special for the fans.”
The NFT collections will consist of rare photography, videos, and signed limited-edition covers and related media. SPIN is also playing around with other ideas such as minting NFTs of custom collaborations with artists, celebrities, musicians brands, as well as exclusive videos and behind-the-scenes footage. The NFTs will have utility features such as unlocking opportunities to attend SPIN’s physical art galleries, events and experiential installations.
