SketchAR, a mobile app that allows artists to turn photos into illustrations, is updating the features of the app to allow creators to upload, mint, and auction their creations as NFTs. The company is dedicated to helping artists in their creative journey, and this is their next strategic step in aiding creators to sell their work in the global digital space.
“For artists, entering the NFT field gives another area and format to create and distribute art — and offers their lovers one more way to support them,” announced the company in a blogpost.
The app is starting off the new NFT initiative by allowing the SketchAR community to select a “Creator of the Week.” Their latest artwork is then automatically converted into an NFT posted on the OpenSea marketplace.
The only main requirement is that the artwork has to be made directly on the SketchAR app which proves that the author is the legitimate rights holder. This will be a major advantage for both artists and collectors, since many marketplaces don’t actively monitor or authorize the authenticity of NFTs. Other types of content that can be produced on the app include a public community feed and digital learning courses.
