Freddie Mercury, the man responsible for inspiring drunken renditions of Bohemian Rhapsody since 1975, is the subject of an upcoming NFT sale. Four exclusive digital artworks featuring the legendary singer are the subject of an auction, which will consequently raise money for AIDS charity, the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
The legendary Queen frontman would have turned 75 this month and to mark the occasion, SuperRare will auction off a collection of Freddie Mercury-themed NFTs. The four featured works are the product of acclaimed artists Blake Kathryn, Chad Knight, Mat Maitland and MBSJQ. All of which, are lovingly crafted incarnations based on the colourful star’s exceptional life.
Freddie Mercury may have lived a relatively short life, but in that time he changed the music world forever. Those he touched with hit talent, passion and incredible stage persona will forever be in his debt. That is what makes this collection all the more special.
The auction will commence at 8AM PST on September 20 and will run for 75 hours. Furthermore, all proceeds will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the non-profit set up by close friends in honor of the iconic rocker.
