Real-life superhero, Frank Miller, has set an incredible new benchmark for comic book NFTs. This week, he sold a single Sin City NFT for a whopping $840k. That’s around 235 ETH in real money!
Depicting the death of Detective Hartigan, “I Love you Nancy Callahan” represents one of the most poignant moments in comic book history. The content shares a tender exchange between Nancy and Hartigan, before depicting the brutal demise of the detective himself. The work is an animated version of the original comic book frames. All backed up with a mood inducing atmospheric musical underscore. The end result is a triumph of NFT mastery.
Working in partnership with Gala Games and Concept Arthouse, the auction took place on OpenSea and was conducted in Gala Coin. Consequently, a 3-way bidding war erupted, and eventually settled on a price of 8,537,584 $GALA.
Speaking of the digital medium, Frank Miller is bullish when it comes to the emerging technology. He sees NFTs as an extra facet to his medium of choice, which adds an extra dimension to his creations and brings his works to life.
Speaking candidly, he stated: “It is something that you aspire to when you’re drawing, but to really see things form and move like in ‘I Love You, Nancy Callahan,’ it’s really wonderful.”
