CryptoArt Sundays: Interview with Stelcart

Welcome to CryptoArt Sundays! This week I introduce you to the very special artist Stelcart. Her phenomenal artworks have previously been exhibited in solo exhibitions in Dubai, and she dabbles in a number of different mediums and styles.

Stelcart is a co-founder of Morrow Collective, a group of NFT curators and collectors, and through her passion for art she aims to bridge the gap between traditional and NFT art.

Make sure to check out her whimsical artworks on SuperRare and KnownOrigin, as well as some of her other incredible art on her website.

Now let’s dive into the interview and read about her experience of the NFT space so far!

How did you find out about the NFT space, and what attracted you to create your own NFTs?

I was introduced by a friend, and was skeptical at first, but once it clicked I was 100% in. I love having a platform to show my art on where it is seen. Getting your art actually seen is half the battle.

How often do you create?

I create when I can, but finding time is hard with a full time start up (Morrow Collective, NFT curators) and three small kids. I try to drop new art once every two weeks.

What is your creative process?

I get ideas when I’m not looking for them, and make a note in my phone to refer to later. I draw loads of inspiration from my feminist friends, the world around me, different cultures, and artists I admire.

Are there any CryptoArtists you would love to collaborate with?

I would love to collaborate with Coldie and Skygolpe if they would ever agree to it. But artists I absolutely love and have agreed to collaborate with me are Suryanto and Pindar van Arman.

What do you think the future of CryptoArt will look like?

The future of CryptoArt is that it will be so much more widely accepted, and will go hand-in-hand with physical artworks and historical art, museums, art galleries, and established IRL art collectors.

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on a collab with my friend and incredible artist Darian Zam for the future art festival in Sydney, and a series of marionette puppet animations.

Where can collectors buy your work?

You will find my work at www.superrare.com/Stelcart, and my curatorial work at www.morrow-collective.com
