CryptoArt Sundays: Interview with Camila Illustration

I’m so thrilled to introduce you all to one of my latest and favourite discoveries – the artwork of Camila Illustration, a digital artist from Porto, Portugal.

Her illustrations reinterpret reality in a dreamy feeling of magic, wonder, and subtle beauty. I highly recommend scrolling through her Instagram to take in all the aesthetic glory of the way she blends colours and different styles of art to create her own unique illustrations.

Lately I have taken such a liking to LoFi-style art with a kind of Japanes-y feel to it. Actually, I didn’t even know “LoFi” art was a thing until recently, or rather, I didn’t know that was the term used to describe this moody, sublime, and delicate art style.

Check out a few images of Camila’a art below and our interview discussing her inspirations, CryptoArt success, and much more.

How did you find out about the NFT space, and what attracted you to create your own NFTs?

I found out about the NFT world firstly through a friend in November of 2020. But I was so busy that I didn’t have the time to deep dive into it. In January of 2021, I started hearing the NFT word in a lot of podcasts I listen to daily, and that’s when I knew I had to learn more about this world.

Once I started digging I was mesmerized!

How often do you create?

I create every day. I’m a full-time artist.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I’m very inspired by the Franco-Belgian comics, by Japanese ukiyo-e artists, by cartoons from the ’90s and 2000s, and by all Studio Ghibli’s “Paradises!” I am also very influenced by nature in general. It plays a major role in my work.

I love trees, animals, and how everything is connected and so beautifully created.

What makes an artist successful in the CryptoArt scene?

I believe that the main thing to be successful in this space is the same as in any other space: to do good quality, sincere artwork. That is the most important aspect.

Besides that, it helps to have a strong community on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram and to understand on which platforms you can present and sell your work.

Are there any CryptoArtists you would love to collaborate with?

Definitely! I would love to collab with Victor Mosquera and Lucas Léon from because I think our styles would match beautifully together. 🙂

What are you currently working on?

I’m working on a few different projects.

I’m doing a series of 3 animated pieces about dreams and travels that will soon be dropped on viv3.com.

The first one was an edition of 10 and is already sold out and the other two are coming soon!

I’m also working on a video cover for a Lofi/chill hop channel and on two album covers for instrumental hip hop artists. I love working with music because it plays a major role in my day-to-day life. I couldn’t live without music!

Where can collectors buy your work?

They can sign up for viv3.com newsletter to be updated with my upcoming drops, and they can also do offers on the “Mila’s Paradise” collection I have displayed on OpenSea.
