Italy’s Lega Serie A has partnered up with Crypto.com to release an NFT collection. The collection will commemorate the Coppa Italia final, where Atalanta will challenge Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus on May 19th at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia. Lega Serie A is the first-ever football league to join forces with an NFT and cryptocurrency platform.
“We are the first football league in the world to sign an agreement in this new market which is extremely innovative and relevant,” said Luigi De Siervo, chief executive of Serie A. De Siervo also stated that Lega Serie A aims to expand its target audience and that the partnership will provide an exciting experience for million of fans around the world.
Lega Serie A is one of the most famous football leagues in the world, and had more than 9 million spectators last season at the public stadium and was watched by over 250 million fans in Italy. Hong Kong-based Crypto.com recently launched its own NFT marketplace and has been partnering up with major celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Boss Logic, and Mr Brainwash.
