Anyone who follows the NFT space will know that Christie’s Auction House is no stranger to the NFT marketplace. However, there are a number of NFT artists that have been taken aback by the latest announcement from Gary Vee about Christie’s auctioning off five of his original Veefriends NFTs. You can see the NFTs below to get an idea of why the reaction.

This is, on the other hand, great news for the Veefriends community. Gary Vee is a beast unmatched at generating value and community around an idea, so this move will certainly propel the benefits for all Veefriends NFT holders. The current floor price of a Veefriend, according to OpenSea, is around 17 ETH, and with Gary’s legendary art going up for sale on Christie’s, there’s no telling how far the price will skyrocket in a few weeks (to the moon?).
The auction will take place on October 1 and will feature the original hand drawn artwork for “You’re Gonna Die” Fly, Gratitude Gorilla, Tremendous Tiger, “Diamond Hands” Hen, and Empathetic Elephant. “It elevates the brand,” says Gary. “People have underestimated this project in the OG NFT-land, and this is another execution that is not gonna allow them to underestimate it anymore.”
Check out Gary’s official announcement in this CNN interview clip:
