Saturday 22nd of May marks a grand anniversary for the blockchain community. It will be 11 years to the day from when famed programmer, Laszlo Hanyecz, paid 10,000 Bitcoins for two Papa John’s pizzas. A transaction which would right now equate to just under 275 Million dollars….per pizza. And what better way to celebrate such a monumental event than the world’s largest pizza party.
Funded by the folks over at RarePizzas via the sale of 10,000 unique NFT pizzas, the bold scheme is to purchase a million slices of real-life pizza in locations across the globe and throw the world’s biggest pizza party.
The tasty looking NFT pizzas will be generated using original artwork provided by over 200 individual artists and toppings will range from the conventional, to the unconventional and to the utterly absurd.
Can’t wait until May? You’re in luck because RarePizzas can’t wait either. So if you’re hankering for some pizza-themed revelry, head to the RarePizzas store in Cryptovoxels this very Saturday, May 1st, and get stuck in at the pre-party.
