For those looking for something a little more functional from their NFT purchases, Crypto start-up “Anima” could have the answer.
Aiming to revolutionise the way NFTs are collected and displayed, Anima are dedicated to making immersive augmented reality artworks. Consequently, having caught the attention of some of the industry’s biggest players, they have raised $500k in seed funding from a group of investors including Coinbase Ventures.
Anima will use the seed money to expand their portfolio and develop their own trading platform. With this in mind, Anima’s Consenys Palm based marketplace will launch in late June.
Augmented reality has huge potential within the NFT realm by allowing owners to interact with their assets in the real world. This extra dimension takes what would normally be a non-functional piece of art, and transforms it into a tangible object. Still in its early days, the plucky entrepreneurs already have two fantastic artworks in the space: Boombox and Cernan. NFT ambassador 888 purchased the latter back in May for a cool $108,888.
With collaborations involving some of the digital realm’s finest artists already underway, we’re excited to see what they come up with next.
